Shallon has worked in different Humanitarian Refugee settlements of Rwamwanja, Kyangwali, Kyaka and Nakivale Settlement as a GBV caseworker, Litigation caseworker, acted as a GBV Assistant and Officer as well data collection with Action Against Hunger and Save the Children International.
Shallon has worked as a GBV caseworker at Alight, by her agency she was a dedicated professional who provided non-judgmental, confidential and Survivor Centered support to GBV survivors, counselling, psychological first Aid, detailed case management in consideration of Principles of case management, conducted awareness sessions with the support of SASA! TOGETHER methodology and engaging men through accountable practices (EMAP).
Shallon has worked with Alight as a litigation caseworker, with her assistance was able to sort and package clothes for both men, women, elders and children with high level of integrity clothes were distributed to different distribution points. Ensured to serve the community without discriminating them by gender, tribe, religion, ethnicity and DO NO HARM principle was considered at the time of distributing the clothes.
Through these experiences and skills, Shallon has gained communication skill, coordination skill, Problem-solving skill, approach skill, networking skill, influencing skill, referral pathway skill, computer skill report writing skill, mobilization skill, community and engagement skills. She is a self-driven person, willing to learn and unlearn, need to meet deadline and has a positive mindset, attitude and passionate to work in humanitarian setting.
Currently with Tumaini for Refugee Women (TRW), through my expertise will be able to conduct case management, community mobilization, capacity building and coordinate with other partners to achieve the set goals.
